Rapper, mogul and Houston resident 50 Cent has been named grand marshal of this year's H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade. The parade takes place in downtown Houston on November 24 at 9 a.m. Houston vet, Bun B is also slated to perform.

Last year's grand marshal Dr. Peter Hotez will join the festivities as an honored guest. Dr. Hotez is a professor and dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor and co-director of the Texas Children's Hospital for vaccine development. Mayor Sylvester Turner will join Hotez and 50 Cent on the Tom Turkey float.

Located in the heart of downtown Houston, this event is one of the oldest Thanksgiving Day parades in the country. Each year, several hundred thousand Houstonians line the streets to cheer on participants. The parade will traverse over 20 city blocks and will feature elaborate floats, colorful marching bands, high-flying balloons and other uniquely Houston entries.

50 Cent moved to Texas in 2020 and Houston has welcomed one of its newest celebrity transplants with open arms and a giant mural. One of the fastest growing states in the nation, Texas has earned the reputation as one of the best states for telecommuting amongst other things. The mogul posted a picture of the mural across his social media platforms.
