Rochester MC and producer 38 Spesh just dropped "Painful" from his upcoming album 7 Shots. "Painful" features Freeway and Che Noir and is the second single from the upcoming project, which is scheduled for release on Sept. 7. "Painful" follows the lead single, "Last Gasp," featuring Ransom.

"This song is pure pain just like the title says" Spesh explained in a press release. "Especially for me and Freeway because the track was brought together by a mutual friend of ours who passed away shortly after we made it."

Che Noir sets off the slow-tempo banger, weaving a tale of growing up with addicted parents and having to raise siblings as a result. 38 Spesh spits a story about being locked down after making a few wrong life choices, while Freeway proclaims, "Made a million in the trenches before I met Jigga."

38 Spesh is known for dropping guest verses that are the highlights of other artists albums. He has worked with DJ Premier, Method Man and Lloyd Banks and Mistah FAB. Though Spesh has been content to play the background while helping others move to the forefront, he's now ready to take his place among the scene’s elite, starting with 7 Shots, the third installment in his evolving fan-favorite Shots Series
