The Pharcyde's 'Passin' Me By' And 'Runnin'' Certified Platinum By The RIAA

The Pharcyde's hit singles, "Passin' Me By" and "Runnin'" have been certified Platinum (denoting one million sales) by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America). "Passin' Me By" is the second single from the group's 1992 debut album, Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde, while the Dilla produced "Runnin'" from the groups 1995 sophomore album, Labcabincalifornia was the second of three singles from that project.

Bizarre Ride peaked at #75 on Billboard 200, and was certified Gold (500,000 copies sold) in March of 1996. "Ya Mama", "4 Better Or 4 Worse", and "Otha Fish" were also singles from the critically acclaimed album. Labcabincalifornia peaked at #37 on Billboard 200, #17 US Top R&B.

The J-Swift produced "Passin' Me By" peaked on the Hot Rap Singles chart at #52 and featured a sample of the late Quincy Jones' "Summer In The City". "Passin' Me By" was featured on the soundtrack of video game NBA2K9, and was featured in opening of the 1999 film, Big Daddy.
