The Washington D.C.-based National Hip Hop Museum's art gallery, The House of Hip Hop, opened its new exhibit today (10/21) titled Hip Hop's Golden Age.

The exhibit is described as an immersive experience of Hip-Hop's golden years and features a replica of a Death Row electric chair, Rakim's Paid In Full jacket worn during a performance, one of the late Kangol Kid's Kangol hats, Keith Cowboy of Grandmaster Flash & The Furious 5's cowboy hat, and more.

"The exhibit's title "Hip-Hop's Golden Era" doesn't just refer to 1986-1996, it refers to the use of Gold throughout each Era in Hip-Hop’s 50-year history," National Hip Hop Museum founder Jeremy Beaver said of the exhibit.

The gallery is located at 2622 Georgia Ave. Washington, DC at the entrance to Howard University and requires tickets for entry, which can be ordered at the museum's official website.

In August, the National Hip Hip Museum held an induction ceremony in Atlanta at the Nappy Roots-owned Atlantucky brewery where Chubb Rock, Slick Rick, Kool G. Rap, Diamond D, U.T.F.O. and Whodini were inducted and Kool G. Rap performed live.
