TDE Producer Sounwave Sparks Excitement for New Kendrick Lamar Album

It has been almost five years since Kendrick Lamar’s last studio album. His Pulitzer Prize-winning album DAMN. was released in 2017, and fans are hungry for new music by the prolific Los Angeles emcee.

Lamar excited fans when he announced his return in August, sharing a surprise message on social media, telling fans that his next project will be his last one with his home label Top Dawg Entertainment, seemingly to focus on his new personal label Pg. Lang.

TDE producer, Sounwave, returned to social media on Saturday (January 1), to spark more excitement about some new music from Kung Fu Kenny.

“Took a full year off to get realigned with what I love to do,” he wrote on Instagram while sharing a photo of his laptop and production equipment surrounded by peaceful wilderness. “New creations on the way.”

Meanwhile, followers interpreted Sounwave’s post as a sign of Kendrick Lamar’s imminent return and flooded the comments section with excitement for his album’s arrival. “New Kendrick soon??” one fan asked, while another wrote, “Plz tell Kendrick to drop.”

All signs point to Kendrick Lamar returning with a new album in 2022. The 34-year-old rapper is set to perform at the Super Bowl LVI halftime show alongside mentor Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige on February 13, which sure is the perfect stage to rollout a new album.

Do you think the Kendrick album is coming soon? Stay tuned for more hip-hop news.
