Well, the AI wave is officially upon us. From Chat GPT (which some school districts have banned because kids are using it to write essays and do their homework) to Bing, which was tested on a few exclusive users and was revealed to have multiple personalities, including a dominant one name Sydney, AI is everywhere. And while Bing's AI was retooled after a wave of articles describing its unhinged behavior, AI in general shows no signs of slowing.

Of course, the music industry is always at the forefront of technology, and with that said, Spotify has rolled out DJ, a new AI-powered listening guide that speaks to users and offers recommendations based on your listening history. It also offers commentary between songs. DJ is currently in Beta for Spotify Premium users in North America, and Fader reports the voice for the character comes from Spotify's Head of Cultural Partnerships, Xavier "X" Jernigan, host of The Get Up podcast.

In the promo clip, the voice urges a listener on saying things like, "I know you've been on a summer song kick lately, so I went back for some of your old summertime favorites..."
