Friday means new music, and Snoop Dogg and Eminem have added their names to the pot with a colorful new single that pays homage to their respective hometowns, "From the D 2 the LBC."

The song also pays proper respect to the joys of marijuana, and the video plays into both of their comedic chops, with a lively comic book-style illustration of them transforming into Bored Ape characters (playing on their affiliation with Bored Ape Yacht Club, an NFT collection built on the Ethereum blockchain). Throughout the video, they travel the world and indulge in various exploits, as referenced by the hook: “Put your doobies high if you reside in 213, let’s see them blunts raised / Whether you east side or west side of the 313, let’s see them guns blaze.”

“Took too long to reconnect with @snoopdogg you know we had to make a movie!" Eminem tweeted about the creative video, effectively squashing any remnants of the mild back-and-forth between the two that surfaced back in 2020 when Snoop failed to list Em in his top 10 rappers list.

As the video suggests, both rappers have dipped into the NFT space. Em purchased an NFT from OpenSea's NFT marketplace and became a member of the Bored Ape Yacht Club, while Snoop was announced a big-time investor in Moonpay, who has also teamed up with the rapper's recently acquired Death Row Records to create an NFT marketplace.
