Rock The Bells Radio personality Roxanne Shante has been honored with the Hip-Hop Grandmaster Award. The ceremony took place on Saturday (8/5) in Las Vegas Nevada. Rock The Bells Radio personality Grandmaster Caz was also honored along with Kool Moe Dee.

The Hip-Hop Grandmaster Awards are sponsored by the Paid In Full Foundation, which was founded by Ben and Felicia Horowitz in 2022 and celebrates "Transformational Hip-Hop artists who have not received economic rewards proportional to their exceptional contributions to art and culture." The award includes a financial stipend for the recipients in an effort to "empower the artists to further their creative and artistic endeavors.”

Roxanne Shante is a trailblazer and template for modern female Hip-Hop recording artists. Her debut, "Roxanne's Revenge" is recognized as Hip-Hop's first diss record, and one of it's earliest answer records. Her reply to UTFO's gargantuan hit "Roxanne, Roxanne" led to over two dozen answer records, igniting the "Roxanne Wars" of the mid 1980's.

Shante recently received the 2024 Cynopsis Top Women In Media Award for her excellence in broadcasting. Shante received the honor of 'Game Changing On-Air Talent' along with talent from Telemundo, Nickelodeon, and CBS Sports. In an exclusive interview with Rock The Bells Shante shared that it was an honor to be recognized as a force in broadcasting.
