Rick Ross May Have Found a New Calling — Wrestling Promoter

Rick Ross dropped by AEW Dynamite and has wrestling fans thinking he's found a new calling — wrestling promoter. The rapper made an appearance on Wednesday’s AEW’s Boston show, joining the crew for a segment backstage, and telling commentator Tony Schiavone to address him as "The Biggest Boss."

Ross was joined by “Sneaky” Swerve Strickland, with Ross declaring that  Strickland will eventually be among the biggest wrestlers in the community. Also, Ross said he's set on turning Strickland into the “largest recording artist in the world.”

“We’re keeping it positive here today,” Rick Ross, who sat ringside to watch the action, told Schiavone. "I’m here for one reason and one reason only, I want to make this clear: making sure Swerve is not only the biggest wrestler in the industry but also the largest recording artist in the world. That’s why we’re here; we’re celebrating today and that’s why we’re here. The biggest.”

Obviously, this is far from the first time a rapper has crossed over into the world of wrestling. Aside from the countless wrestling lyrical references made over the years, some have literally joined the action. Last year, Snoop Dogg attended an AEW match between Cody Rhodes and Matt Sydal and got tagged by Rhodes, prompting him to leapfrog in the match. In September, Action Bronson joined the wrestling world, making his pro wrestling debut on a “Grand Slam” episode of AEW Rampage.
