Papoose was celebrated by some of his most esteemed peers and closest friends at a soiree in Midtown Manhattan. On Wednesday (Aug. 31), the NYC rap superstar was honored at a party at Brooklyn Chop House in Times Square. Everyone from Fat Joe to Busta Rhymes to Angie Martinez was on-hand to show Pap the love, along with his wife, Remy Ma.

Mona Scott-Young, Julez Santana, DJ Premier, TT Torrez, were also in attendance to celebrate Papoose’s career and recent success, and TuneCore CEO Andreea Gleason presented him with a plaque to celebrate his release of 12 albums over the course of one year in 2021. Joe joked that he'd been too drunk to eat at his recent birthday party.

“So I’m tryin’ to eat tonight,” he said. “You hear me, Brooklyn Chophouse? Bring out a steak, cause boy--I am waiting to taste the goods!”

Many on-hand offer words of praise to the veteran rapper, including Scott-Young. "You are, in the purest form, a musician at heart," the Love & Hip-Hop producer said. "You do this for the love of the art, for the love of the music, and it shows. That's why people support you and that's why they continue to love you. And I am so proud of you. I don't know how you put up with Remy!"

Remy joked about Pap and herself often working late and seeing their peers at ungodly hours.

“I feel it's 3:39am in my house right now," Remy said. "Mona in the middle of the night…literally these people, I’ll be trying to sleep, and I hear you guys, the wheels churning and the ideas, all hours of the night. And it’s just good to see you guys at a reasonable hour!”

Remy also shared a funny story about Papoose recording music in her shoe closet.

“We moved into our new house right after Thanksgiving, so obviously the first room we had to do because we do music was my shoe closet," she shared. "He had a designated space that was going to be the studio, but he was pressed for time - so he turned my shoe closet - most of those albums that you see was done amongst my shoes. My shoes should be in the credits somewhere.”
