Questlove is set to direct a live-action reimagining of Disney's film, The Aristocats.
Deadline reports Questlove is directing, serving as executive producer, and overseeing music for the film with a script by Will Gluck and Keith Bunin. Additionally, Black Thought will executive produce the effort along with Shawn Gee, and Zarah Zohlman on behalf of Questlove's Two One Five Entertainment.
The film is based on the 1970 animated pic, which centered on Parisian cats who find out they're about to inherit a fortune from their owner. They end up teaming together with a tomcat to make it home after they're kidnapped by a jealous butler.
Questlove is also set to direct a film about Sly Stone, based on his upcoming memoir. He also recently launched AUWA Books which will publish fiction and nonfiction titles, and is "devoted to finding inspiring new stories and connecting readers to lost voices." Questlove will serve as publisher and editor-in-chief of AUWA. He also has a film documenting the life of J Dilla in the works.
