The crown worn by The Notorious B.I.G. in his iconic "King Of New York" photograph from 1997 is headed for auction.

The famed headwear is from Biggie's final photoshoot before he was murdered in Los Angeles on March 9, 1997. The photo has become one of the most iconic in Hip-Hop over the past near-25 years; and is expected to fetch an upwards of $300,000 at the auction.

Also slated for the September 15 auction is an archive of love letters written by a teenaged Tupac Shakur from when he was in high school. The handwritten letters are expected to net an upwards of $80,000 at auction.

According to a press release, a portion of Sotheby’s proceeds will be to benefit the Queens Public Library Hip Hop Programs and Building Beats, A Non-Profit community organization focused on DJ & music programs.

The live auction is slated for September 15 at Sotheby's New York.
