Nicki Minaj has hinted that she will be releasing a new album before the year is done. During an interview with Jada Pinkett Smith with Interview magazine which was published on Tuesday (10/18), the "Super Freaky Girl" rapper said that her fifth studio album would be released this year.

Nicki revealed that the success of her latest single prompted the decision to release an album. "I wasn't sure how I was even feeling about putting out a new album this year," she said. "That song [Super Freaky Girl] happening and people liking it, that made me happy. People have gone through so much recently that they want to have fun. It'll probably expedite the album to come out this year."

Nicki recently dropped the remix to "Super Freaky Girl." The original version of the song, which is featured on Queen Radio: Volume 1, helped Nicki score another major victory in a career that's been full of them. With it, she became the first solo female rapper to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 since Lauryn Hill in 1998. The song, which samples Rick James' 1981 classic "Super Freak," also marked her first Hot 100 No. 1 as an unaccompanied artist and her third overall. The remix features City Girls, JT, BIA, Katie Got Bandz, Akbar V, and Maliibu Miitch.
