Nas and DJ Premier Tease New Forthcoming Song

Finally, a new Nas and DJ Premier collaboration appears to be on the way. Earlier today (July 7) Preemo shared a video that suggested new music is coming on July 15. As a new Nas track that sounds like it was produced by Preemo plays muffled in the background, a camera catches a plaque from Nas' classic Illmatic debut hanging on the wall and then swings to a show a closed studio door.

That little teaser was enough to excite fans who've been waiting on a project from the pair for a while now. The two made a classic connection on Nas' debut album, Illmatic, and though there's been a lot of promises about the possibility of another big collaboration, it hasn't happened yet save for a few singles.

Even still, Nas has made another notable musical connection over the past two years, with producer Hit-Boy. Together, the two have crafted what's probably the most consistent run of Nas' career with three stellar projects King's Disease(2020), King's Disease II (2021) and Magic (2021). In addition to the music he's dropping, Nas will be participating in the first-ever Hip-Hop Food Court curated by Bun B with eats from his popular resto Sweet Chicks at the Rock the Bells Festival on Aug. 6.

As for his collaboration with Preemo, there's no word on what else the pair might be cooking up.
