LL COOL J Discusses Reaching Out To James Earl Jones For His New Album, 'THE FORCE'

In a recent interview of Let's Go Live LL COOL J spoke with Sharon Carpenter about his love of Star Wars, an explanation of THE FORCE, and how he reached out to the late James Earl Jones to perform a vocal intro on the title track of his newest album in over a decade.

"Originally we wanted to get James Earl Jones, may he rest in peace to do the intro on the song, 'The Force'," he said. "I tried to get him to do it, obviously he wasn't in the condition to be able to do it, but we definitely reached out to his camp. I love the mythology behind Star Wars, it's a mythological journey about life and the unfolding of the human experience.

It's not just special effects and laser beam shoot outs and light sabers. On a mythological level the force is powerful, that's why Michael Jackson [on Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough] said, 'The force has got a lotta power, it makes me feel like that.'"
