Kurupt Honored at 9th Annual GRRRD Awards In L.A.

West Coast rap legend Kurupt was among the honorees at the 2022 GRRRD Awards in Los Angeles last night (Nov. 18.) The show was held aboard a yacht in Newport Beach, with comedian/actor Slink Johnson serving as host.

With love shown to Cali mainstays like Jayo Felony and Death Row Records, as well as movers and shakers across the rap scene who have helped define what the music industry looks like in Los Angeles, the GRRRD Awards also paid homage to the legendary Dogg Pound rapper for a career of tremendous influences and undeniable classics. Kurupt took the mic to thank everyone in attendance while leading the crowd through an impromptu rendition of Snoop Doggy Dogg's "Ain't No Fun."

"I just want to say I'm having the time of my life," Kurupt told the crowd as he accepted his honor. "I'm enjoying myself! And I'm enjoying seeing all of y'all enjoying yourselves. To my sis, I wanna say thank y'all. Because y'all are the ones--not the twos."

The Death Row star also led the crowd through a bit of Dr. Dre's 1999 hit "The Next Episode."
