Just Blaze Shares That Meat Loaf "Rescued" Him

Rock legend and actor Meat Loaf (born Michael Aday) died at age 73 on Friday, Jan. 21; and as tributes and reactions poured in across social media, a somewhat unlikely celeb revealed his own connections to the late star. Superproducer Just Blaze mysteriously revealed that he had a dramatic encounter with the "But I Won't Do That" singer. But Blaze didn't elaborate...yet.

"True story: Meatloaf rescued [me] when I was stranded in the Arizona desert in 2003," Blaze tweeted as news of Meat Loaf's passing hit Twitter. That very compelling tweet sparked reactions from his followers, but Blaze didn't elaborate on what happened. He did imply that he would fill everyone in on the specifics.

"Stepping into a meeting. I’ll expound on this asap."

As of yet, Blaze hasn't filled everyone in on his fateful encounter with Meat Loaf. But the powerhouse singer's legacy is being recognized in the wake of his death. Having become famous initially after appearing in 1975's Rocky Horror Picture Show, Meat Loaf became a chart-topping sensation in 1978 with the release of his album Bat Out of Hell. He would spend the 1980s mostly quietly, before experiencing an unexpected comeback in the 1990s with his smash sequel Bat Out Of Hell II: Back Into Hell, which included the No. 1 hit "I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)." He also famously starred in popular films like 1999's Fight Club.

C'mon, Blaze...we gotta hear this story.
