Jay-Z has aligned to long time ally and New York Patriots owner Robert Kraft to assist with funds for legal services for educators and librarians who are being attacked over the book bans in red states.

The two have teamed up through their respective foundations, the Shawn Carter Foundation and The Foundation to Combat Anti Semitism and will donate $1 Million to provide pro bono aide to librarians and others in affected by the book bans. The initiative was launched at the "Book of Hov" exhibition at the Brooklyn Public Library.

According to TMZ, "The New England Patriots owner and Jay laid down the framework for underserved students to obtain scholarships and financial grants, and hopefully have their works turned into movies, plays, audiobooks, etc. to further the message.” Additionally, Kraft and Jay-Z plan to get the banned books reprinted.

ESPN recently reported that Robert Kraft persuaded Jay-Z to partner with the NFL amid the Colin Kaepernick fallout. “The NFL isn’t picking up on these social issues. We need your help," Kraft reportedly told Jay-Z.

Because of Kraft’s efforts, Jay-Z and his Roc Nation got involved with NFL commissioner Rodger Goodell, and eventually inked a five year, $25 million deal with the NFL with the goal of diversifying the Super Bowl halftime show and increasing the NFL’s social justice presence, among other things, according to ESPN's Seth Wickersham.
