The majority of the episode is dedicated to discussing Pinkett-Smith's battle with alopecia; a disease which causes hair to fall out. At the 94th Academy Awards on March 27, Rock made a joke onstage about Pinkett-Smith's bald head, which led to Will Smith taking the stage and slapping the comedian in the face, before returning to his seat and screaming "Keep my wife's name out of your fucking mouth!" Smith would take home the Academy Award for Best Actor on the same night, for his performance as Richard Williams in King Richard.
The incident became one of the year's most widely-discussed controversies; with the Academy electing to ban Will Smith from all Academy functions, including the Oscars, for the next ten years.
During the episode, Jada reveals that 147 million people live with the condition, and she recalls the stress of having hair grow and disappear.
