Ice-T shared some behind-the-scenes footage of his long-running hit series, Law & Order: SVU on Instagram. The Hip-Hop legend plays Sergeant Odafin "Fin" Tutuola, and was doing a nighttime shoot. He was quick to let everyone know it was "cold as a muthafucker."
"Here we are in New York City, it's night, all of y'all muthafuckas want to be actors. We're behind the scenes of 'SVU,'" he says panning the camera so that everyone can see cars flipped in the street, a smoke machine rolling, and fire trucks scattered about. "It's raining and it's cold than a muthafucka. So yeah, they do pay us, but you'll be freezing out here, freezing your balls off. Everybody else is at home nice and toasty." He smiled before showing more footage, "It's not all glitz and glamour."
This year, Ice-T became the longest-running male actor in a TV series for his role in the hit series. He's filmed over 400 SVU episodes and has been on the show for 22 years.
"You've gotta be on the show that stays on the longest. [Law & Order] is the longest-running show," he told ET. "So to get that title, you have to be on. It's all consecutive. There are people that have acted way longer than me. But to be on one show continuously for that long, it has never been done."
