Havoc of Mobb Deep was a guest recently on VladTV, where he was interviewed by Saigon. In the interview, Havoc recalled once losing a battle to Nas.
"I used to hang with him when I was 16 or 17," he remembered. "I didn't know he rapped, but I found out that he rapped, he already knew I rapped, they were like bust a rap so I bust my rap — he busts his and it was not fair. I felt like they set me up, he was just too ill."
Havoc explained that Mobb Deep had already released their debut Juvenile Hell. "We already had a deal and the record ain't go nowhere," he said. "I knew if this dude gets a record deal it's over. It felt crazy because our record ain't go nowhere, then he came through with 'Halftime' and I had to go back to the drawing board. But he set a high fuckin' bar!"
