Legendary hype man Fatman Scoop has died after collapsing onstage last night (8/30) in Town Center Park in Hamden, Connecticut. According to TMZ, CPR was administered and emergency personnel was dispatched around 8:30 PM. Condolences for the hype man, radio personality, and recording artist have flooded social media.

Close friend and DITC co-founder Diamond D posted, "No words. We sat at the same lunch table bangin' on the table and reciting rhymes, both dreaming about making it big one day. We just spoke a few days ago trying to map out doing the video to our song."

Born Isaac Freeman, Fatman Scoop was a hype man, rapper, radio personality and recording artist. His trademark was rocking over already existing tracks, like his biggest hit 2003's "Be Faithful" which samples "Never Knew Love Like This" by Faith Evans and other popular songs. Scoop worked with Lil Jon, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston. R.I.P. Fatman Scoop.
