Fat Joe has very busy lately. Not only is he hosting the 2022 BET Hip-Hop Awards and set to star in his own one-man show about his life, now the pilot for his new interview-style series has been picked up by Starz.
Deadline reports the series, produced by Diddy under his Revolt banner, will have a documentary-style format with Joe serving as host, interviewing high-profile celebrities.
“We’re about to create the biggest and most culturally-relevant series on television,” said Fat Joe in a statement. “With Puff, LeBron, the incredible team at Starz and myself teaming up, you have a dream team that is guaranteed to produce TV gold. Hosting a show has always been a dream of mine and I’m thankful for everyone who helped make it a reality. I promise you that we’re going to push the envelope, deliver compelling interviews and provide pure entertainment. Do remember – you don’t know who I know!”
The latest move is in line with Joe's vision for his career. In an exclusive interview with Rock The Bells, he said he plans to focus on things outside of music.
"I don’t think I’m making music no time soon," he said. "It’s just focusing on media, TV and opening businesses. I have a lot of investments I’ve been doing and I’m looking forward to growing as an entrepreneur."
For Diddy's part, he said he's happy to work with cultural heavy-hitters for the new series.
“I’m excited to partner with Starz and bring these cultural giants together to create the No. 1 show on television,” he said. "Fat Joe is a very authentic and respected voice in the culture that deserves a platform to bring these important conversations to a global audience on a major network.”
