Doug E. Fresh revealed the origins of his name on the newest episode of Kid -N- Play's Fun House podcast. "We were in school battling, and I won the battle," the La Di Da Di rapper said. "Everybody was going crazy, and clapping. There was this Latino brother that came up to me and said 'Yo Dougie that battle was crazy, you should let me put your name on the wall.'"

Doug explains that a misspelling led to his current name. "I said just write Dougie's Fresh. He wrote Dougie Fresh, and the next day when I came in the school people kept calling me Fresh. I looked at the tag and it said Dougie Fresh, and that's how I got my name." Check out the snippet below.
