Upcoming DMX Documentary To Air on HBO

HBO has officially announced the release dates for their upcoming Music Box Series which will feature a documentary focussing on the life of the late hip-hop legend DMX. DMX: Don’t Try to Understand is slated for a November 25 release and follows DMX after his prison release in 2019.

DMX: Don’t Try To Understand is directed by Christopher Frierson, and focuses on the period when  X was released from prison in early 2019 as he attempts to rebuild his career in the music industry and reconnect with family and fans. 

“The film bears witness to a man searching for reinvention and redemption, striving to stay true to himself while reestablishing his roles as a father, an artist, and an icon,” HBO said in a press release. 

The film captures DMX’s struggles with addiction, personal demons, family, and relationship with God in the last years of his life before he would tragically pass away in 2021. DMX: Don’t Try to Understand premieres November 25 on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.
