DJ Premier and Teflon have reunited for the single, "Contraband."
The track is featured on Teflon's upcoming album, Two Sides To Every Story, due out next year. The project is half produced by Preemo, with the flip side produced by Jazimoto. The M.O.P affiliate is focused as ever on the hard-hitting track, reminding longtime fans of his lyrical dexterity.
The new release marks a very busy year for Premier. He recently released the new video for his 2008 single "Blow Horn Joint," an instrumental track that is essentially a horn loop over Preemo's signature boom bap drums. The song comes from the full-length album Beats That Collected Dust Vol. 1, a compilation album of unreleased Preemo beats.
Additionally, Preem produced songs for Prodigy's latest posthumous project and collaborations with Benny The Butcher. He also produced Hip Hop 50: The Soundtrack, released on Mass Appeal. The project, which he announced on social media back in July, featured Run the Jewels and Joey Bad A$$, as well as collaborations between Slick Rick and Lil Wayne and Remy Ma and Rapsody.
"Contraband" is available to stream now.
