DJ Premier and 2 Chainz have reunited for the first time since their 2018 single “Flirt” for their newest collab track, “Mortgage Free.” 

The new track is the fourth single from Preemo’s series with Payday Records, which kicked off in 2017 after the Houston producer re-launched his iconic label. Previous tracks include “Our Streets” featuring A$AP Ferg, “Wut U Said” featuring Cassanova, and “Headlines” featuring Griselda. 

2 Chainz raps over classic Premier, boo-bap production, with his iconic laid back swagger, spitting, “The goal in life is to be mortgage free/Control your emotions, have integrity/The American dream is to get a house/But for me the American dream is to get a ounce.”

“Since 2 Chainz joined Royce and I on PRhyme 2’s ‘Flirt,’ I returned the love back by sending him a beat while he was in the Bahamas with Statik Selektah earlier this year recording for various projects.” Preemo explained in a statement, “I sent him the beat and he sent it back to me the same night.”
