DJ Drama was a guest recently on the Rory & Mal Podcast where he revealed that he was supposed to record a Gangsta Grillz project with Outkast.

"Outkast was supposed to do a Gangsta Grillz," he explained. "Me, their manager at the time Blue Williams, Dre and Big Boi all got on the phone. It was supposed to come out before Idlewild [the 2006 motion picture and soundtrack featuring Outkast], but I got a call saying 'Dram we'd love to do it but we are working on the movie and the soundtrack but we wanna offer you an Outkast record for your album.'"

The track ultimately became "The Art Of Storytelling Pt 4" which featured Marsha Ambrosius and was featured on Drama's debut studio album, Gangsta Grillz The Album.

Drama recalled the formation of the song. "I started sending Dre every hot producer in the games beats. I sent him everybody's beats. I'm not gonna name no names, but you know at the time I was on fire. Everybody was sending me beats... I was sending them and he was turning everything down."

Drama ultimately asked his partner Don Cannon to craft a beat similar to the one that he did for Jim Jones' The 7 Day Theory mixtape. Drama sent the track to Dre and he replied, "Gimme 24 hours," and sent his verse to Drama. "So then I sent it to Big Boi and at the time I didn't know if it was gonna be an OutKast record. Big heard it and said 'Oh yeah that's the one.' He got on it and named it The Art of Storytelling Pt.4"
