Comedian Dave Chappelle has been in the game for quite some time. When he was a young comic around 21 and on the come up he did a set in Los Angeles where Tupac and Death Row CEO Suge Knight were in attendance. In a video shared by The Art of Dialogue on Instagram, Dave recalls the incident.
“2Pac had just got out of prison," Dave says in the clip. "We were in the Belly Room. Suge was there with Pac. Suge is a big dude, even sitting down there he looked like a giant and people in LA feared him very much.”
“I don’t know why they started in on me," Dave continued.
"But they started heckling me. There’s a bit that I do about hood n****s from LA , the poor people in LA had yards, so hood n****s mowing their lawns. You put some flamingos out there. Lucky for me they thought it was hilarious. They sent some Hennessy to the stage and I said there’s no way I ain’t drinking that."
Dave collaborated with Netflix recently to executive produce four Chappelle’s Home Team comedy specials featuring his favorite comedians.
