Legendary music executive Clarence Avant, who was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, had a tragedy at his California home on Tuesday night (November 30), where his wife, Jacqueline Avant, was shot and killed during a home invasion. She was 81.
According to TMZ, the home invasion happened in the Trousdale Estates, a high-end area neighboring Beverly Hills. The Beverly Hills Police Department got a call around 2:30 am for a home invasion, alerting the authorities someone had been shot. By the time the police arrived at the estate, Avant was already rushed to the hospital.
Jackie served as the President of the Neighbors of Watts, a support group that focused on child care. She was also on the Board of Directors of UCLA's International Student Center. She was married to Clarence Avant for 54 years before tragedy struck.
Our prayers go out to the Avant family, friends, and loved ones. Rest in peace.
