According to Deadline, recording artist Cee-Lo Green is working with Lauren Grace Media, the producers of Race In America, on a documentary that chronicles his life. They are also partnering on a scripted drama series inspired by his group Goodie Mob.
As a member of Goodie Mob, a solo artist, and one-half of the alternative duo Gnarls Barkley, Cee-Lo's career has been lengthy and varied. Lauren Grace Media owners and partners Dorathy Toran and Leslie D. Farrell are leading the projects along with producing partner Eric Nicks.
Green said: “We are thrilled to partner with the Lauren Grace Media Team. Dorothy and Leslie are powerful storyteller, and Eric is a music industry veteran who has made a seamless transition into the world of film and television. CeeLo continued: “Goodie Mob is a prolific rap group for the south and the epitome of Southern hip-hop culture. We are ready to memorialize our musical journey in the scripted space.”
