Showtime's new documentary, All Up In The Biz, chronicles the late Biz Markie's early childhood years and his entry and journey in the music business.

The Sacha Jenkins-directed doc contains interviews with Biz's widow Tara Hall, Big Daddy Kane, Masta Ace, Craig G, Rakim, DJ Hurricane, Tyrone Williams, Marley Marl, Tracy Morgan, Doug E. Fresh, and his foster care family including Cold Chillin' recording artist Diamond Shell. The 90-minute documentary dives into Biz's guarded childhood and his love of music, specifically Hip-Hop.

Biz's gargantuan collection of toys and '70s/'80s pop culture memorabilia is also highlighted in the film. Pete Nice and Paradise of the Universal Hip-Hop Museum and 3rd Bass, and The X Clan make appearances in the film, showcasing Biz's massive jewelry collection and clothing.

Doug E. Fresh shared never before heard stories of his close relationship with Biz. Animation adds to the storytelling, and archival footage of Biz's mentor Roxanne Shante and his cousin and DJ, Cutmaster Cool V, also help to tell Biz's early musical history.

Biz's one time rhyming partner, Rakim, shares heart warming and sometimes emotional tales of their early days rhyming together at Long Island's Wyandanch High School, while Masta Ace shares the back story of his hit song and video "Me and The Biz."

Biz's hospitalization and rehab is covered in a series of reenactments with a bed ridden puppet representing Biz. Biz's Juice Crew brethren Big Daddy Kane and Craig G both gave personal music performances in dedication to the fallen Human Beat Box, MC and DJ.
