Biggie's legacy continues to be honored — this time by Marvel's Deadpool. The rap icon is featured on a special limited-edition variant cover for Deadpool #1.
Per Marvel.com, the cover was created in honor of the 50th anniversary of both Hip-Hop. Created by Ken Lashley (Black Panther, X-Men: Gold) and written by Alyssa Wong (Star Wars: Doctor Aphra, Marvel's Iron Fist) and artist Martin Coccolo (Hulk, X-Men) the limited edition variant cover features Biggie perched on a throne wearing his famous crown while the comical Deadpool stands at his side. Although Big isn't featured in the book, the special limited edition is focused on honoring his legacy.
"Biggie and Hip Hop turned 50 this year, so we at hustl. were absolutely thrilled to work with his team and Marvel to create this variant as our way of paying tribute to one of the greatest and influential Hip-Hop icons of all time," hustl. COO Keri Harris told Marvel.com. "Next month, we will follow this up with another all-time great, which we cannot wait to share with pop culture fans."
The variant cover for Deadpool #1 featuring Biggie is available in limited quantities from TheHaul.com.
