The 30-year anniversary of Steve Rifkind's Loud Records will be celebrated at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards. David Banner, Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep with Lil Kim, dead prez, Remy Ma, Fat Joe, Three Six Mafia, Lil Flip, and M.O.P. will commemorate the legendary label with performances.
“It has been such a rewarding 30 years for LOUD alongside my tireless partners Rich Isaacson and Jonathan Rifkind,” said Steve Rifkind in a statement. “The impact we’ve been able to make with some of today’s pioneering and trailblazing acts is unmatched. I’m privileged to be able to work with everyone from Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Big Pun, Xzibit, and more, to this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards host, my brother, Fat Joe. I’m honored that BET is recognizing the impact that LOUD has made in revolutionizing the industry and propelling the culture.”
Loud Records initially launched in 1991, and played a key role in the careers of acts like Big Pun, Wu-Tang Clan, dead prez, The Alkaholiks, M.O.P., and more.
In addition to the celebration of Loud Records, Trina will receive the I Am Hip Hop Award. Fat Joe is set to host this year's awards, and Drake leads the pack of nominees with 14 nominations. Kanye West follows with 10 nominations, while Kendrick Lamar earned nine.
The BET Hip-Hop Awards will be taped from Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta, GA, on Friday, September 30. The show will air Tuesday, October 4, at 9 p.m. EST on BET.
