West Coast trio Tha Alkaholiks came out the gate in the early ‘90s with their albums 21 & Over, Coast II Coast, and Likwidation, collaborating with everyone from Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Q-Tip and Madlib along the way.
Their commercial peak would arrive in 2001, with their fourth studio album, X.O. Experience, which debuted at No. 47 on the Billboard 200. The project was led by the Neptunes produced single, “Best U Can,” giving the group their biggest song to date.
While many other artists would kill to secure one of Pharrell and Chad Hugo‘s infectious, futuristic beats, Tha Liks needed convincing.
