Snoop Dogg and Eminem Have A Collaboration On The Way

By Kiani Belgrave

Snoop Dogg and Eminem have been close collaborators for years as they both came into the game as proteges of Dr. Dre. There has been a bit of tension between the two emcees, with a couple of slight jabs thrown between them in recent history. Despite their quasi beef, the two have allegedly been in the studio together with new music on the way soon.

Snoop gave his opinion on rap’s top 10 emcees, excluding the Detroit rapper, explaining, “White rappers had zero respect in rap,” he said. “[Dre] has probably put Eminem in the position where he could be labeled as one of the top 10 rappers ever. I don’t think so, but the game feels like he’s top 10 lyricists and all that comes with it. But that’s just because he comes with Dr. Dre and Dr. Dre helped him find the best Eminem that he could find,” he said after calling Em, “the great White hope.”

Eminem clapped back with some bars aimed at the LBC emcee on his track “Zeus,” where he rapped, “As far as squashing beef I’m used to people knocking me/But just not in my camp/And diplomatic as I’m tryin’ to be/Last thing I need is Snoop doggin’ me/Man, Dogg, you were like a damn god to me/Meh, not really (haha)/I had dog backwards.”

It appears that the mini-feud between the two legends is now in hindsight. Snoop visited Eminem’s Shade 45, where he conversed with fellow Mount Westmore member, Too $hort. In conversation with the Bay Area rapper, Snoop hinted at new music between himself and Shady.

“Everybody’s solo song was the last verse of the song before that, except the one with me and Eminem,” he explained. “Because I felt like that was like a big reveal. When n-ggas hear that Eminem on that mothafucka, that’s just a whole other level.”

DJ Whoo Kid shared the clip to his Twitter page and appeared to confirm the collab with, “That new @snoopdogg and @eminem is coming soon.”

The two will be teaming up along with Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar as they are scheduled to blow the roof off of the Superbowl LVI Pepsi halftime show. JAY-Z, who had played a role in booking the artists for the show, says, “This is the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. This is history in the making.”
