Queen Latifah Stars Opposite Adam Sandler In LeBron James-Produced 'Hustle'
Queen Latifah returns to the big screen in the LeBron James-executive produced Hustle. The sports drama stars Adam Sandler as Stanley Sugerman, a Philadelphia 76ers talent scout, who is tired of traveling and searching for the next unknown talent, usually at the expense of his family. Sugerman instead wants to be a coach, and Queen Latifah plays his wife Teresa, who supports him as his search around the world leads him to Spain, where he discovers Bo Cruz (played by real life NBA player Juancho Hernangomez ), who he bonds with over a shared love for family and passion for basketball.
Hustle debuts on Netflix on June 8.
Latifah has been busy on multiple fronts recently with The Grio announcing that she is returning to the CoverGirl cosmetics line, where she was the face of the Queen Collection from 2006 until 2017. The Queen Collection was CoverGirl's first attempt at broadening its range of shades to accommodate women of color. Latifah returns and will "influence greater inclusivity behind the scenes", according to Business Insider.
The Queen also broke ground recently on a housing development in Newark, New Jersey that is intended to elevate and revitalize the city. Latifah said of the development: "Whats always been important is that I could build something in this city that I could live in."
