Kanye West Earns First Diamond Plaque With "Stronger"

By Kiani Belgrave

Kanye West has spent over twenty years in the music industry as a producer, emcee, and more. Ye is no stranger to praise, as he has racked up countless numbers of accomplishments and accolades throughout his prolific career. However, West has just reached another milestone in his career, as he has just earned his first-ever RIAA certified Diamond record.

Earlier this week, it was announced that the Chicago hip-hop legend has earned his first certified Diamond single in his 2007 single “Stronger” from his third studio album, Graduation. The Daft Punk sampled record has officially gone 10-times platinum on October 6, 2021.

The iconic music video was inspired by the classic 1988 anime film Akira, which worked perfectly with the song’s futuristic sound and triumphant lyrics.

Ye has expressed that the single was one of his favorite songs to work on, having multiple versions and mixes before becoming the timeless single we know and love today.

Kanye earned some RIAA plaques last month as well with “Devil in a New Dress,” and his album Ye, going Platinum and singles “Drive Slow,” “On God,” and “Hurricane” all striking gold.
