Donald Glover Teases New Season of 'Atlanta' With Creepy Trailer

By Kiani Belgrae

Donald Glover, a.k.a Childish Gambino, has been flying under the radar for quite some time now. After quietly dropping his fourth studio album 3.15.20 last year, Gambino fans were curious when the multi-faceted artist would be back with a new season of his hit dark-comedy series Atlanta.

On Sunday (October 31), the rapper, comedian, and filmmaker tweeted a link to “gilga.com,” a mysterious website containing a trailer for the upcoming third season of the Emmy Award-winning FX show.

The eerie 60-minute clip teases the next chapter for the trio, as we find Brian Tyree Henry’s character, Paper Boi, who is sat at the head of a dining table wearing a Gucci-style sweatshirt with the word “FAKE” on it, while a waiter and waitress stand facing the wall behind him.

Work on Atlanta season three began in April when Donald Glover shared a photo of him and the rest of the main cast — Brian Tyree Henry, LaKeith Stanfield, and Zazie Beetz — on Instagram with the caption, “‘Day 0’ S3 ATL.”

Glover has compared the show to Kanye West‘s discography, likening the upcoming season to Ye’s blockbuster 2007 release Graduation.

“I align the seasons, I think, to me, like Kanye records,” he said during an Emmys panel in 2018. “I feel like this is our Graduation. This is probably our most accessible but also the realest and honest version of it. And I feel like the most enjoyable, like the third album.”
