Doja Cat Salutes Little Brother: "I Love You, Man"

By Rock The Bells Staff

Doja Cat is a Little Brother fan! It turns out one of the biggest acts in the game has a lot of love for the legendary tandem of Phonte, Big Pooh and 9th Wonder. She showed love to the North Carolina-based crew recently.

The starlet was listening to LB's classic "Whatever You Say" during her IG live and shared just how much the track means to her.

“That’s one of my favorite verses in the entire fuckin’ history of rap, ever,” Doja Cat said, doing her makeup. “That shit was so smooth. He didn’t rhyme one fucking word. I don’t care what anybody says. Maybe the last bar. He said, ‘personal time inversed in rhyme.’ That was the only thing he rhymed together. The whole rest of that verse was not rhymed. Nothing. Not one fucking rhyming thing, but it worked. It worked. You don’t have to rhyme.”

Phonte of Little Brother gave Doja a playful shout-out, poking a little fun at racial controversies surrounding the rapper in the past. “IN THE RACIAL CHAT ROOMS BUMPIN @LittleBrotherNC!!! Much love, @DojaCat. Thank you for listening."

And Doja responded: “I love you man, you’re a fuckin’ legend.”

"This is not the first time we've tried to get what's ours. This is just the first time we've spoken about it publicly," Pooh explained at the time. "That's what it is. At this point, now I'm going to ruin whatever you have left—until you give me what's mine. Because that was blatant disrespect, to continue to reissue these records when you know you haven't begun to make things right with us, the people who made those records."
