Dave Chappelle, Black Star, Donnell Rawlings Coming To Drink Champs

By

The next Drink Champs episode will feature Mos Def and Talib Kweli of Black Star and comedians Dave Chappelle and Donnell Rawlings. Drink Champs co-host N.O.R.E. announced the episode with a video clip and caption via Instagram.

“NEW @DrinkChamps episode with @BlackStarKeepShining is on the way! Special guest & comedy legends @DaveChappelle & @DonnellRawlings took things to another level," reads the caption. "Get the @DeleonTequila @Ciroc ready THURSDAY @RevoltTV@TheRealNoreaga@WhosCrazy#DrinkChamps@iRossta@WhosConstant@FlyTrap_Gumbo.”

The video clip contains jokes and interactions between the MC’s, comedians and hosts and looks like it will be one for the books.

Black Star released No Fear of Time, their first album in 24 years on May 3rd; and Dave Chappelle was attacked on stage at the Hollywood Bowl on the same day. Isaiah Lee, the man accused of attacking Chappelle stated earlier this week that he identifies as bisexual and that he was triggered by Chappelle's content about the transgender community. Lee, a single dad says that he has experienced homelessness (which Chappelle also joked about) and wanted the comedian to know "It's a struggle and not a joke."

This Drink Champs episodes marks a first for all guests, and was recorded in Chappelle's hometown of Ohio, instead of its usual Miami Florida location. The show premieres Thursday.
