Busta Rhymes Announces His New Album Is "Done"

Busta Rhymes has announced his 11th studio album is complete. The New York emcee took to his Instagram account on Tuesday morning (January 11) to announce the finished project while sending some thoughtful words to DJ Kay Slay.

“New Album Done,” he wrote. “@djkayslay you on my mind while I’m recording King. Keep Fighting!! We need you, and we got too much shit left to do.. Thank you @khrysis_ #SOULCOUNCIL.”

Busta’s message to DJ Kay Slay follows news of him struggling with COVID-19. On Thursday (January 6), his brother revealed that Kay Slay was in a state of recovery.

Busta Rhymes’ last project, Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God, was released in 2020 after taking an eight-year hiatus from music. That album features contributions from Kendrick Lamar, Q-Tip, Mary J. Blige, Rick Ross, Rakim, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, and more.
