50 Cent and Snoop Dogg Sound Off On Emmy Snubs

By Kiani Belgrave

The 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards aired from Los Angeles on Sunday night (September 19). Fans and fellow actors were not pleased with the results of the award show due to the fact no people of color took home a major award. This came as a shock to fans and nominees alike, as a record-breaking 49 non-white creatives were nominated for awards.

50 Cent took to Instagram after the award show with some choice words regarding the night in a now-deleted post. “Listen, the Emmy’s still has a separate bathroom for colored folks,” he wrote in a since-deleted post. “I’m gonna put The NAACP awards on the air at the same time and fuck up there numbers. No they really should be afraid of me i’m different,” he posted.

Snoop Dogg also gave his take on the #EmmysSoWhite debate.

On Tuesday (September 21), Snoop shared a post to his Instagram with 38 black creatives, nominated but did not earn an award at the 2021 Emmy’s. He captioned the post, “Then U wonder why I say fuckall these bullshit ass award shows they not for us Emmy these nuts in ya mouth.”

The never-ending, #EmmysSoWhite saga continues with another year of disappointing snubs.
