After nearly a decade hiatus, founding Slum Village member TR and rapper/producer Young RJ continue the group’s legacy as a duo with today's (5/3) release, F.U.N. The group meshes Disco with Jazz and modern Hip-Hop, on the album which is their first full length release in almost ten years.
In a statement T3 explained the genesis of F.U.N. "[It] began with collecting old Disco records." "We wanted to just try something new, so we focused on making Disco-inspired music," RJ adds. Robert Glasper, Cordae, Eric Roberson, Larry June, Sango, and many others serve as guests on the album. Currently wrapping up their 28 date FUN Since 92 Tour, Slum Village is set to join Rakim and Talib Kweli for Panic In La on May 15. The duo will also join SZA and Jack Harlow in Louisville, Kentucky for the Gazebo Festival on May 26.
