Raekwon has finally been granted conditional approval to open a dispensary in Newark, New Jersey, per Hip-Hop Wired.

NJBiz reported that earlier this year, the Newark Central Planning Board initially denied the application from Hashstoria, an Oregon-based franchise that partnered with The Chef. However, during their July 24 hearing, the board reconsidered and granted the organization conditional permission to set up their business at 799-805 Broad St.

On Friday, August 4, Raekwon made the announcement.

“THANK YOU NEWARK , NEW JERSEY !!!!!!!!!! and all my Amazing Partners @jeddcanty @bakarisellers @cthagod on this wonderful and culture shifting Endeavor," he wrote, adding “@hashstoria is Guaranteed to be the top tier consumption lounge / dispensary to hit the east coast period ! you heard it from chef himself. we will be right in the heart!”

Back in April, it was reported that Newark, New Jersey's Central Planning Board denied an application by Raekwon to open a cannabis lounge in the city after elders at the Old Presbyterian Church across the street from the proposed site protested according to NJ.com.
